On June 3, Warriors @ Amazon Canada, an employee-led group dedicated to supporting veterans, military spouses, and their families, marked the 82nd anniversary of D-Day at a distinguished Mess Dinner hosted by The 1860 Club and The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada at Toronto's iconic Casa Loma.

Warriors @ Amazon Canada served as a Diamond Sponsor of the evening, which brought together senior members of the Canadian military community alongside Amazon leaders from People eXperience and Technology (PXT), Global Military Affairs, and members of several additional employee-led groups, including Warriors @ AMZL Canada, Women @ Amazon Canada, and the Black Employee Network.

The event underscored Amazon's commitment as a military-friendly employer dedicated to empowering veterans, their spouses, and families through meaningful career opportunities and sustained support.

"Standing alongside active military personnel, veterans, and Amazon's own reserve duty officers and veterans made me feel immense pride in our country and history," said Steve Holmes, regional PXT manager at Amazon. "Being surrounded by those who stand up for us every day, who made the ultimate sacrifice and still moved forward to ensure our safety, brought the weight of their service into focus. It was an honour to be part of this evening, to learn this history firsthand, and to witness the dedication of our military personnel. Reflecting on what they went through, and what our veterans continue to endure, grounds me in gratitude."

Cross-community collaboration was also on full display throughout the evening. "Women @ Amazon Canada is proud to stand in solidarity with our fellow employee-led groups as we champion inclusion beyond our own community," said Brittany Gallacher, president of Women @ Amazon Canada and senior community manager at Amazon. "Alongside members of PXT, Global Military Affairs, area and operations managers, and fleet management, it was a powerful reminder that our strength as a community comes from showing up for each other—and for the values of service, leadership, and inclusion that unite us all."

The impact of Amazon's involvement extended well beyond the company itself. "The event was instrumental in raising awareness within the Canadian community that Warriors @ Amazon Canada exists—an employee-led group dedicated to supporting veterans, their spouses, and families from day one," said Ninep Moshy, operations manager at Amazon and president of Warriors @ AMZL Canada, a chapter of Warriors @ Amazon Canada. "It served as a pivotal moment to demonstrate Amazon's unwavering commitment as a supportive employer, reinforcing the company's dedication to the military community through meaningful action and visibility."
