Today, Ring is introducing Ring Sensors to Canada - a new line of smart security devices that will be available soon. Now, you can get a real-time alert on your phone if your front door opens while you’re at work, or get notified of a water leak in your basement before it causes damage. With the help of Amazon Sidewalk, a secure community network launching February 26, Ring Sensors deliver reliable protection across your home: detect motion in your living room, track temperature drops that could freeze pipes, check air quality when you’re away, and control lighting in every room. Amazon Sidewalk keeps these devices connected and working – even if your Wi-Fi goes out – so you can stay informed and in control wherever you are.

Ring Sensors: Reliable, Always-On Protection
You can add devices anytime, creating three seamless layers of protection: Security, Safety, and Control.

Security Layer: Your First Line of Defense
Protect entry points, key rooms, and outdoor spaces with:

  • Door & Window Sensors - Get alerts when doors or windows open
  • Motion Detectors - Monitor entire rooms with pet-friendly settings
  • Glass Break Sensors - Use AI to identify the sound of breaking glass
  • Panic Button - Access help instantly with the touch of a button
  • Outside Door Sensor - Extend protection to gates, sheds, and garages

Safety Layer: Stay Ahead of Hidden Risks
Monitor potential issues before they become costly problems:

  • Smoke & CO Listener - Receive real-time alerts through integration with existing alarms
  • Flood & Freeze Sensors - Detect leaks or low temperatures early
  • Temperature & Humidity Sensors - Track conditions in basements, attics, and other spaces
  • Air Quality Monitor - Receive critical insight into CO, particulates, and gases
  • Sump Pump Monitor - Monitor rising water levels to help prevent flooding

Control Layer: Smart Convenience, Simplified
Manage everyday routines and comfort from anywhere:

  • Smart Plug
  • Single Light Switch
  • Smart Fan Control
  • Smart Light Remote

Customers can also add optional 24/7 professional monitoring with a compatible Ring subscription, so trained security professionals will receive alerts from your sensors and can contact emergency services on your behalf if needed (available for the Window & Door Sensors, Outside Door Sensor, Panic Button, Smoke & CO Listener, Glass Break Sensor, and Motion Detector).

Powered by Amazon Sidewalk
Ring Sensors rely on Amazon Sidewalk, a secure community network that enhances the connectivity and functionality of your devices beyond your home’s Wi-Fi range*. Compatible Amazon devices, such as the Ring Bridge, Echo smart speakers, and Ring cameras, serve as "Sidewalk Bridges" that form the backbone of this network. These Bridges work together to create a network that can keep devices like your Ring Sensors connected during outages, simplify new device setup, help find lost items, and extend the low-bandwidth working range of devices – connecting those hard-to-reach places in the home, like attics, garden sheds, or back gates*.

One benefit of Amazon Sidewalk is that it requires no additional hardware purchases - any Sidewalk-enabled device you own will automatically work when within range of a Sidewalk Bridge in your community, creating a more robust and expansive network for everyone at no charge.

Amazon Sidewalk is built to keep your information private and secure. It uses multiple layers of encryption and unique security keys to protect your data. Information is encrypted to prevent anyone—including Amazon—from accessing it while it's in transit.

Starting today, customers with eligible devices will receive information about how Amazon Sidewalk works, as well as options available to them, before the network launches on February 26.

Easy Setup, Powerful Protection
Ring Sensors work right out of the box with Amazon Sidewalk - just scan the QR code to connect to the Ring app and Amazon Sidewalk. No hubs or complicated setup required*.

All Ring Sensors can be controlled and monitored in the Ring App, so you can receive real-time alerts and take action from anywhere – whether you’re at work, running errands, or traveling abroad.

Availability
Ring Sensors will be available for purchase in March in Canada, and Amazon Sidewalk will be live on February 26. Customers can easily turn Sidewalk on or off any time in the Alexa app’s account settings or the Ring app’s Control Center.
