The glow of Diwali brought warmth and light to Amazon's YVR4 fulfilment centre in Greater Vancouver on October 20, as employees welcomed community leaders and special guests for a vibrant celebration of the Festival of Lights.
The celebration, organized in partnership with Amazon’s Asians@ employee-led group, featured a surprise visit from artist Chani Nattan, recently named as a 2025 Amazon Music Artist to Watch whose music is featured on The Post playlist, released in May. Chani took a behind-the-scenes tour of the over 500,000-square-foot facility and participated in a Q&A moderated by talented content creator Navi Brar, who brought her engaging style and cultural insights to the conversation.

"It was very special to celebrate Diwali with Amazon employees and share my music," said Chani Nattan. "As an artist, I'm always looking for ways to connect my music with my cultural roots, and events like this provide a beautiful platform to do just that. It's inspiring to see a company like Amazon embrace diversity and create spaces where traditions can be shared and celebrated."
"Celebrating Diwali at our fulfilment centre shows the beautiful cultural fabric that makes up our Amazon community," said Mehul Chaturvedi, Operations Manager at YVR4 and chapter lead for Asians@. "Through our employee-led groups, we create spaces where employees can proudly share their traditions and heritage, helping everyone feel valued and connected."
Councillor Jennifer Johal from the City of Delta added, "Amazon's celebration brings that spirit to life by showcasing how a global company can meaningfully connect with the people and cultures that make Delta so unique."
This Diwali celebration exemplified Amazon's commitment to community impact, featuring a special donation to Khalsa Aid—a global humanitarian organisation providing critical disaster relief since 1999—presented to Director Baljit Lally, reflecting our shared values of service and our ongoing investment in organisations making meaningful differences in communities worldwide.
"Amazon's support during Diwali reflects our shared commitment to community service. This donation will strengthen Khalsa Aid's disaster relief efforts worldwide, exemplifying how corporate partnerships can create meaningful impact where it's needed most," said Baljit Lally, Director, Khalsa Aid.
Amazon has many employee-led groups that allow Amazonians to come together across businesses and locations around the world. In addition to Asians@, these include Warriors at Amazon (for military veterans and their families), Women@, Glamazon, Indigenous@, Black Employee Network, Families at Amazon, and Mental Health and Well-Being, among many others. These employee-run, volunteer groups are designed to offer connection and support while fostering diversity and inclusion throughout the company.
The Diwali celebration reflects Amazon's ongoing commitment to creating a workplace that values cultural diversity and builds meaningful connections with the communities where employees live and work.
