As the holiday season reached full speed, Amazon employees across the country experienced something extra special. In celebration of Prime Monday Night Hockey and in partnership with the NHLPA, hockey players visited Amazon sites and community organizations nationwide to roll up their sleeves, meet employees, and help deliver meaningful support to local charities.

From fulfilment centres and delivery stations to food banks and hospitals, each visit highlighted the power of teamwork – on and off the ice.

Here’s a look back at the moments that made this year’s events unforgettable.

5 Questions with Prime Monday Night Hockey Stars

Ottawa: Claude Giroux kicks off the season of giving

The series began in Ottawa, where Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux visited Amazon’s YOW3 fulfillment centre in Barrhaven. Giroux toured the site during peak season, met with employees, and got hands-on to help sort orders headed out for Same-Day Delivery, which recently expanded in Ottawa with two additional afternoon delivery windows.

The visit also included donations to the Ottawa Food Bank and the Barrhaven Food Cupboard, which he presented alongside Bruce Fanjoy, M.P. for Carleton, helping support families across the region during the busiest time of year for food banks.

Toronto: Matthew Knies supports local shelters across the GTA

In Brampton, Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies brought energy and holiday cheer to Amazon’s YYZ4 fulfillment centre. Knies joined employees to help pick and pack customer orders, and also added a personal touch by autographing packages.

He also joined City of Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown and Councillors Rod Power and Gurpartap Singh Toor to gift-wrap items being donated by Amazon to three local organizations: Women & Children Precious Shelter, Sakeenah Canada, and Ernestine's Womens Shelter, supporting women and families across the Greater Toronto Area.

Edmonton: Zach Hyman lends a hand during peak season

At Amazon’s YEG2 fulfillment centre in Acheson, Edmonton Oilers forward Zach Hyman joined employees during one of the busiest times of the year. Touring the 2.4 million-square-foot facility, Hyman jumped in to help pick and pack orders, even autographing some of the boxes to add an unexpected holiday surprise for customers.

The event also supported three local charities: Edmonton’s Food Bank, Parkland Food Bank and AdaptAbilities, an organization providing essential disability-support programs for children, adults, and families across the region. Parkland County Councillors Jason Doucette, Ben Jespersen and Kristine Olson helped present the donations and delivered remarks for employees.

Vancouver: Quinn Hughes delivers support to the Langley Food Bank

On the West Coast, Quinn Hughes made one last stop in Vancouver, experiencing the last mile of Amazon’s operations at the DVY7 delivery station in Langley. Hughes helped scan and load packages before hopping in the passenger seat of an Amazon delivery van to transport essential items being donated by Amazon to the Langley Food Bank.

A crowd of enthusiastic volunteers greeted him at the food bank, where he took the time to thank the team for supporting the local community.

Montreal: Kris Letang brings holiday cheer home

The events concluded in Montreal when hometown hero Kris Letang of the Pittsburgh Penguins took some time before hitting the ice at the Bell Centre to join Amazon in supporting a cause close to his heart – the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. He personally delivered $10,000 in toys, comfort items, and essential supplies from an Amazon.ca wish list created by the charity, arriving at the hospital in a delivery vehicle.

Welcomed by volunteers beneath the hospital’s Christmas tree, Letang thanked hospital staff and supporters before spending time with young patients – a quieter moment focused on connection, comfort, and care.

From all of us at Amazon, thank you to the employees, community partners, and players who helped make this year’s events so impactful.
